Margaretha Honstein Born Aug. 1, 1860 in Norka, Russia. She was a German from Russia. I've seen things that had both for a maiden name. Her huband was Johann Georg Hohnstein. He changed his name to George Honstein. They came to America in 1891 and landed in New York but took up residence in Denver or Globeville. She never spoke english. Her children tried to teach her one time but they laughed at her and gave up. She for sure had 7 children but a record I seen maybe 8 and the second child died in Russia or on the way to America. Her children were: Margaret "Maggie Sterkel, Konrad Honstein (one found record of), Lena Yeck, Emma Harder, Henry, Johnny, Louis "Louie" and Adam. She was my great-great grandmother.
