Sylvia Christina Atkins was born July 20, 1904 in Persia, Harison County, Iowa to Simon Silas and Elizabeth Jane Hammond Conger. She grew up in Iowa and on April 9, 1930 she married Elmo Raymond Conger in Persia, Harrison County, Iowa. They were blessed with three children two girls and a son. Sylvia was a teacher in a rural school in Harrison County, Iowa. They traveled several times between Iowa and Colorado, finally settling in Colorado in the 1940's. Sylvia died April 8, 1983 and was buried April 12, 1983 Section S 6647.
