Western Colorado's most noted frontiersman, pioneer and lawman.
He was the sheriff of Gunnison County when it was really the Wild West. He captured the famous Cannibal Alferd Packer. He rode with Tom Horn when he was a good guy. He was a deputy US marshal, a railroad detective and Salt Lake City's chief of police.
