Bethune Dunkin Payne 20 Nov 1844 Metuchen, Middlesex, N.J. and died 3 Apr 1925 Rosita, Colorado. Parents were: Thomas Edgar Payne and Elizabeth- both buried Hillside Cemetery, Plainsfield, Union County, New Jersey. Three children: Bethune Calvin of Heber City, Utah; Willetta Belle Clift; and Lois Nettie Payne Piltz Vandervoort of Colorado Springs. Bethune married Sarah Belle Akin. Later divorced. Sarah married again to Walter Barton Rants. Sarah is buried by B.D.'s feet.
