ELDREDGE, OLIVER W. - Park County, Colorado | OLIVER W. ELDREDGE - Colorado Gravestone Photos

Alma Cemetery
Park County,

Gravestone inscription: Oliver W. Eldredge 1916 - 1917

Note: buried with two other children; Bobby Self and Melba Jesmer

The Alma cemetery and Buckskin cemetery are one in the same. The cemetery was originally called the Buckskin cemetery because it was next to the original town of Buckskin Joe, now a ghost town. President Theodore Roosevelt approved the land grant for the cemetery to be used by Alma residents on 3/21/1902, Patent No. 1638.

Oliver Wayne Eldredge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eldredge, died in Alma October 14th, at the age of one year and three days. Mrs. Eldredge, who lives in San Diego, California, came to Alma about three months ago with her two children to visit relatives there. The little boy had been suffering with heart trouble, which ended his life. Mrs. Eldredge will be remembered by most of our people here as Anna Osborne, as she was County Supt. of schools of this county a few years ago.
The remains were laid at rest in the family lot at Buckskin cemetry (sic). Dr. H.S. Beavis conducted the service. We extend to the bereaved parents and relatives our sincere sympathy in their hour of trial.
