Miss Nelson was a prostitute and named the men who would carry her to her grave, A Judge, a banker, a Parson and a bloke.

Young Pony Nelson,
The talk o' the town
Gadding the streets
In a scarlet gown:
Too good looking
To be a nice girl
Hair all frowzed
In a coppery curl,
Swishing ladies,
Chins in the air,
Pass up Pony
With a stony stare.

Potter's grave
On a windy hill
Got her at last
She left a will,
Naming the men
To carry her there,
Naming the parson
To make the prayer-
Each man wearing,
To shrive his soul,
A blood-red rose
In his button hole.
Old Pony Nelson,
The talk o' the town,
Rides with the four
To the windy hill,
Three men wondering
How they'll still
Storms a-brewing
With three old brides
Waiting to tan
Their sinful hides:
Guilty and trembling.
Mumas a clam,
Only the bloke
Didn't give a damn-Gallantly laid
A lily crown
On old Pany Nelson,
The talk o' the town.
